Information we handle

HorseRacer does not require an account. The names and options you enter for a race are processed in your browser so the race can run. We do not intentionally send those entries to our servers or include them in Google Analytics events.

If you email us, we receive the email address you use, the contents of your message, and any information or attachments you choose to include. Please do not send sensitive personal information that is not needed for your request.

Like most websites, our hosting and third-party services may automatically receive technical information such as your IP address, page URL, browser and device type, approximate location, referring page, and the date and time of a request.

How information is used

We use information to:

• operate, secure, and improve HorseRacer;
• understand which pages and features are useful;
• measure race starts, race completions, and other product interactions;
• display, measure, and protect advertising; and
• reply when you contact us.

We do not sell the names or options you enter into races.

Analytics and advertising

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand visits and interactions. Google Analytics may use cookies or similar identifiers and collect information including session statistics, approximate location, browser and device information, page views, and feature events.

We may use Google AdSense to serve and measure ads, including during advertising tests. Google and its advertising partners may place or read cookies, use web beacons, receive IP addresses or other identifiers, and use information about visits to this and other sites to deliver, limit, personalize, and measure ads, depending on your settings and applicable consent choices.

Mediavine Programmatic Advertising (Ver 1.1)

The Website works with Mediavine to manage third-party interest-based advertising appearing on the Website. Mediavine serves content and advertisements when you visit the Website, which may use first and third-party cookies. A cookie is a small text file which is sent to your computer or mobile device (referred to in this policy as a “device”) by the web server so that a website can remember some information about your browsing activity on the Website.

First party cookies are created by the website that you are visiting. A third-party cookie is frequently used in behavioral advertising and analytics and is created by a domain other than the website you are visiting. Third-party cookies, tags, pixels, beacons and other similar technologies (collectively, “Tags”) may be placed on the Website to monitor interaction with advertising content and to target and optimize advertising. You may download the AppChoices app at Digital Advertising Alliance's AppChoices app to opt out in connection with mobile apps, or use the platform controls on your mobile device to opt out.

Information stored in your browser

HorseRacer uses local browser storage to keep fantasy draft history on that device and to remember whether the app-install prompt was dismissed. This information stays in that browser unless you clear it, remove a saved history item in the tool, or your browser removes it.

Google Analytics, Google AdSense when enabled, and Mediavine may separately use cookies and similar technologies as described above. Blocking or clearing storage may affect saved history, preferences, analytics, or advertising behavior, but the core race tool can still be used without an account.

Sharing and retention

We share technical usage and advertising information with service providers that help us run, analyze, secure, and monetize the site, including Google and Mediavine. Those providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or safety, or in connection with a business transfer.

Locally saved information remains until you or your browser deletes it. Contact emails are kept only as long as reasonably needed to handle the conversation, maintain records, resolve disputes, or meet legal obligations. Analytics, advertising, and hosting providers retain data according to their settings and policies.

These providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live and use safeguards required by applicable law for international transfers.

Your choices and rights

You can clear cookies and local storage through your browser settings. You can also manage ad personalization in Google My Ad Center and opt out of Google Analytics measurement with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal information. To make a request, email us at contact@horseracer.app. We may need enough information to verify and complete the request.

Children's privacy

HorseRacer is a general-audience tool and does not require children to create accounts or submit personal information. When the tool is used in a classroom, an adult should supervise its use and enter first names, initials, or non-identifying labels rather than sensitive information. Children should not email us or otherwise send personal information without permission from a parent, guardian, or teacher.

If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it when appropriate.

We may update this policy when HorseRacer or the services it uses change. The effective date at the top of this page shows the latest revision.
